Notice on Overseas Travel in Light of the Situation in the Middle East
Following the attack on Iran by Israel and the United States on February 28, 2026, the situation in the Middle East has become increasingly tense.
In light of these circumstances, students, faculty, and staff who are planning travel to the Middle East for purposes such as study abroad, research activities, or official business are strongly advised to carefully assess the necessity of travel after thoroughly confirming the latest local information.
In particular, travel (including transit) to countries or regions designated as Level 2 or higher under the “Overseas Safety and Infectious Disease Information” in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) Overseas Safety Website – Country/Region Information (“Please refrain from non-essential travel.”) is to be suspended.
(This is in accordance with Article 4(1) of the Internal Regulations on Crisis Management and Safety Measures for Kyushu Institute of Technology Students’ Overseas Travel: “Travel to countries or regions where the Overseas Safety and Infectious Disease Information is Level 2 or higher shall be suspended.”)
With regard to overseas travel by faculty and staff, the above internal regulations shall be applied mutatis mutandis and enforced in the same manner.
In addition, even when traveling to countries or regions with other risk levels (including transit locations), please carefully review the latest information on risk levels and related advisories issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and make prudent decisions.

■Temporary Return Home by International Students
In consideration of the situation in the Middle East, international students who wish to make a temporary return to their home countries will be permitted to do so.
However, please fully understand the following points and act based on your own judgment:
● There is a possibility that re-entry into Japan may become difficult due to flight cancellations or airport closures
● For government-funded international students and scholarship recipients who are required to undergo enrollment verification, if re-entry into Japan is not possible, enrollment cannot be confirmed, which may result in the inability to receive the scholarship for the relevant month.
Please note that if you plan to make a temporary return home, you must submit a prior notification to the University using the designated form.
The safety of students, faculty, and staff is our highest priority. We kindly ask for your calm judgment and appropriate actions in accordance with the evolving situation.
